NATURE AS A MODEL FOR OUR CULTIVATION
In nature soil contains roots and is covered, preserving soil fertility.
The organic soil cover provides soil organisms with protection and nutrition. The mulch layer protects the soil from erosion and reduces evaporation while allowing humus to be built up.
Mulch is an in-house fertilizer. Plants grow with their fine roots into the mulch layer and absorb nutrients there.
The mulch blanket suppresses all seed weeds with sufficient vigor, so that any mechanical weed control can be dispensed with. Root weeds, however, can pierce the mulch layer and must be removed.
